Powell Gardens.....Out in the Gardens

My aunt and I went to Powell Gardens because of the Butterfly Festival (which has pictures a little furthere down on this page) and so while we were out there she wanted me to take some pictures of my cousin for her! She is about to turn 13 years old! And so...here are some of her and some of the different gardens!

Powell Gardens.....Festival of Butterflies

Every year Powell Gardens has their Annual Fesival of Butterflies! I had never been to it, but always heard about how beautiful everything is! This year my aunt called me up and said that she wanted to go and see if I would like to go with her! Of course I jumped right in!

Humming Bird!!

Today I spent a little time over at my grandfathers house! He has Humming Birds that always come around so I decided to take my camera and see what I could get! Didn't do too bad either! I sat as far back as I could so they wouldn't be scared off and put my telephoto lens on so I could zoom right up to it! I forgot a tri-pod though(didn't even think about it) so they camera was heavier than it should have been so I was only able to get a couple good ones! oh well...maybe better luck tomorrow!! :)

Omaha, Nebraska....Botanical Gardens

The same week I went to the lake my family and I decided to go spend a couple of days in Omaha, Nebraska! It was a blast!! On the first day we went to The Botanical Gardens out there, which is basically like Powell Gardens here! It was so pretty there! Here are some of the pictures from there!

Omaha, Nebraska.....Downtown River Walk

When we finished at the Botanical Gardens we went back to our hotel room to get cleaned up a bit so we could go to dinner! We went to Downtown Omaha for the evening! We ate at a fabulous restaurant called Old Chicago! Yummy!! then from there we just walked around for a while in downtown! There are all kinds of restaurants and stores to go into! and when we were done we went down by the river! There is this really neat River Walk they have set up! And just out in the middle of the river was a big fountain one of the businesses had put in! This fountain shoots water up into the air over 300 feet! Then on part of the walkway there was a dedication piece to World War 2! The Walkway to it was lined with bricks instead of concrete, and in each of the bricks was inscribed the names and duties of different people throughout the war!

Omaha, Nebraska.....The Zoo!!!

The last thing we did before coming home was the zoo! It was fun! They have an Indoor Desert! In it there is animals from many different deserts all over the world! And it is actually like being in a desert! the way the glass is all around the dome makes it heat up to rather high temperatures as the day progresses! We went early in the morning so it wouldn't be hot yet!! And just below the indoor desert is the largest exhibit of night-time creatures! And they also have an Indoor RainForest!!

Here are some of the pictures from inside the desert. The first is the largest Indoor Sand Dune...the others are just some animals!

Going to the Lake...

Ok...so I knkow I havn't been keeping this up lately, but I have been busy! But I am finally going to add in some new photos! A couple of weeks ago my best friend and I went to the Lake of the Ozarks for a weekend get-away! It was a blast! I hadn't been down there in so long! I didnt take a whole lot of pictures, but here are a few from the weekend of us tubing and swimming and having a good old time!


This first photo was taken our first mornign there, just after sunrise! It was so pretty!
